Abstract
The Chinese ever-ambitious project of Large sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) has brought about a tremendous challenge for the software engineers. This paper describes the strategy of software simulation for the telescope control system as a whole, which is vital before the actual integration at the telescope with electronics and mechanics. The development process of the simulator itself is envisioned from level-O upgrade to level-2, and a demonstration of such a simulator at its level-O phase is illustrated in detail in this paper.
